The Department of Ophthalmology of ASMCH provides both basic and specialized eye care services for patients. Our trained and experienced Consultant provides expert treatment for a wide variety of eye problems. Our consultants, trained in optometry, help in the prescription of glasses for both adults and children. All surgeries are conducted at state-of-the-art operation theatres of the hospital, and over 90% of the surgeries do not require hospital admission. Ad-din has also helped millions of underprivileged patients gain their eyesight back through their mobile eye clinic and OT initiative “Aalor Michil” (Procession of Light), which was started in 2003 in collaboration with Sight Savers International. The program performed free cataract removal surgery, and artificial lens implantation and provided general eye service to countless people in rural Bangladesh.
